THE HIGHEST PERFORMANCE FOR WEIGHT SUPPRESSOR ON THE MARKET
Where to buy in store: Stockists
The A-TEC OPTIMA series of high performance, lightweight suppressors are made with a combination of stainless steel in critical areas and super lightweight alloy in other areas to provide an extremely light but strong suppressor. Modular design makes it possible to add on or subtract modules to choose your desired length to noise reduction ratio.
When you hear this on your rifle you just won't believe how quiet a ultra-light suppressor this light can be. This unit is the best choice for hunting.
Design
- All the same features as the OPTIMA series but now has a thread at the very end of the suppressor. This allows the user to achieve optimum suppression available when the muzzle brake end cap is added.
- The middle module can be removed to shorten the suppressor. This reduces it's effect by about 4DB(C).
- The Optima 50 is the most efficient rifle suppressor for it's weight on the market.
- Steel core, muzzle brake and boss make the critical high pressure components very strong and resistant to gas erosion. The outer tube is constructed of hard anodized alloy to shed weight.
- The Optima 50 uses the unique A-LOCK muzzle adaptor to attach to your rifle.
- The Optima 50 is magnum rated. We recommend limiting shot strings to a few shots only on high energy magnums to avoid overheating and damaging the suppressor.
TURN YOUR SUPPRESSOR INTO A HYBRID
A-LOCK Adaptor
IT'S A REVOLUTION IN HOW YOU THINK ABOUT ATTACHING YOUR SUPPRESSOR.
This unit can be used in two ways:
- Adaptor locked on to the muzzle thread
- This allows the Optima and H2 suppressor to be quick attached and detached in a second with a forceful 1/4 turn.
- This allows a single suppressor to be shared amongst multiple rifles all with different threads. In this case the calibre of the suppressor must be equal or greater than the largest calibre rifle.
- This means the adaptor is on the end of the muzzle, maybe affecting it's aesthetic if it is a thin barrel.
- Adaptor locked inside the suppressor
- This allows the suppressor to be attached using muzzle threads like any conventional suppressor.
- When the suppressor is removed, nothing is left on the barrel.
Advice on suitability:
The Optima series is designed specifically for hunting and stalking where shot strings are usually just a few shots. The A-Tec Optima series of suppressors prioritise lightweight first, which means their high temperature resistance is less than the A-Tec H2 series. Excessive heat is bad for the Alloy components of the Optima unit. Before shooting remember to properly check that your silencer is properly tightened.
When using the Optima suppressor; the user must limit it’s exposure to high heat by:
- Limiting the round count per shot string and letting it cool between strings. The manufacturer guidance is 5 shots max per string.
- Being careful with shortened barrels. On short barrels the combustion gasses are usually still burning when they enter the suppressor which greatly increase the heat. Limit the round count further on short barrels, e.g. 3 shots.
- Being careful with high heat calibres like magnums. Limit the round count further on high heat calibres, e.g. 3 shots.
- As a rough guide, if the Optima suppressor is too hot to keep your hand on it, it should be left to cool before the next shot string. Test the Optima on your rifle and feel the suppressor between each shot to judge the heat. Keep your hand on it for thirty seconds.
- If you are a high heat operator, doing activities such as: pest control, target shooting, magnum shooting, mag dumps; then we recommend our H2 suppressors for these purposes.
